Fundraising
The fundraising team solicits and collects donations to support FoodBank Lakeside. Donations may be contributions of money or items used to raise money such as event venues, prizes for auctions, etc. This team also works with donors – individuals or organizations – that donate directly or indirectly to FoodBank Lakeside.
Fundraising activities include setting revenue goals and objectives and, if necessary, raising money for additional or urgent needs. The fundraising team recruits and encourages individual donors, seeks grant and organizational support, and maintains donor information in the organizational database. It also manages donor acknowledgement, stewardship, and relationship-building.
FoodBank Lakeside fundraising includes direct appeals, ongoing solicitation through various media, event management, grant proposals, and representation in community settings such as market tables or restaurant table-toppers. Fundraising also involves management of the various means of collecting funds such as cash pickups, direct transfers, and online donations.
Volunteer opportunities include donation pickups, data management, in-person presence at community settings, and organizing donor events.
