Families We Serve In Mezcala

An amazing story from Mezcala about the challenges and blessing COVID-19 has inadvertently brought us.

June 2020

Every week we hand out 20-40 dispenses of daily food, vegetables, and cleaning supplies to families that have little to no income. With COVID-19 measures in place, many simply haven’t been able to work anymore.

We have created amazing new relationships with people we never knew about before. There is this one family of about five, one of which is blind; this woman -Virginia- always has a smile on her face when we come to bring her family dispenses. She gives the warmest and strongest hugs around. Virginia needs eye drops daily, and right now she doesn’t have any, so her eyes are in extreme pain, but she told me that now because we have been helping them with their food, it is a massive burden lifted off of them, and they can focus their money on getting Virginia her eye drops.

Virginia’s family is nothing but grateful for everything we have provided, they even gave us an open invitation to stop by their house and eat with them.

Anywhere we have found happiness, sometimes we just need a little helping hand.
