Kids Kitchen Program
The Kids Kitchen is a partnership and collaboration between FoodBank Lakeside and CreSer. FoodBank provides the food to feed lunch to hundreds of children five days a week in the poorer communities to the east of Chapala.
CreSer’s mission is to provide free food, resources and education to our local indigenous communities of San Pedro Itzícan and Mezcala in Jalisco, Mexico to rebuild resilience and self-reliance.
The local women of each village come together to prepare and serve the meals to the children.
Many of the children have shown early signs of kidney disease, widespread in the area due to poor water and nutrition. For most, this is the only real meal of the day.
